Examinations
We do follow your insurance coverage regarding how many examinations you are able to have. If you can have an examination, then your dentist will come and do a complete oral exam.
At every appointment that you have with us, we encourage you to ask questions. No question or concern that you may have will ever be dismissed.
Preventive Dentistry and Oral Hygiene
At Oakvillage Dental we make every effort to preserve your teeth and gums from dental caries and oral disease. We do this by customizing a treatment plan best suited for your needs; this includes regular cleanings and dental checkups.
We will also provide you with resources on how to properly brush, floss and take care of your teeth. We will also give you our secrets on what to look for when buying a toothbrush, shopping for the right food and what symptoms you need to look out for to keep your teeth healthy.
To maintain your oral health at home, in between your dental visits, you should be brushing and flossing at least twice a day.
What does a dental cleaning involve?
Dentists and hygienists have the training to use specially designed tools to get to the hard to reach places that you cannot reach with your toothbrush; below the gum line, for example. Professional cleaning removes hardened calculus and plaque that cannot be cleaned with a toothbrush alone.
Polishing: This removes stain and gives you a brighter smile.
Fluoride: This may or may not be done, depending on your situation.
Root Canal Therapy (RCT)
RCT treats Diseases and abscesses in the teeth and mouth. Inside the tooth is a soft tissue called the “pulp”. The pulp is crucial to the full growth and development of the tooth, as it contains blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. Once the tooth is fully developed, the tooth can survive without the pulp.
Unfortunately, sometimes the pulp gets inflamed or infected, and can cause excruciating pain:
- Pain while chewing
- Pain in ears or head
- Pain while lying down.
- Severe pain while eating hot or cold foods/drinks
- Swelling of the gums surrounding the tooth

Also called false teeth are suited when your teeth are failing and you are not a candidate for implants or getting implants is not in your budget. If extracting teeth, we can choose to do an immediate denture. The extraction and placing the denture right away, makes a convenient solution for not going without teeth.
You name it we do it!! Bring back your smile and call us today to make your free consultation to discuss all your dental concerns.
Teeth Extraction
The best teeth you can have are your own, but if a tooth is so badly damaged or decayed that it’s beyond repair, we may recommend extraction. Prior to the procedure, we’ll discuss your options for filling the space once the tooth is removed, whether it’s an implant, denture or a bridge.
Crowns
Crowns are designed to act as a shield, to protect and restore your tooth. Large fillings may be a temporary fix; a crown is necessary NOT to further damage or completely break your natural tooth.
If a tooth is broken worn down, or decayed too severely for fillings, it can be restored and beautified with a porcelain crown. This restoration is also called a cap, covers all exposed surfaces of the tooth, recreating the natural shape and appearance while strengthening the tooth and protecting it from damage.
